Welcome to 2019
There was a movie a few years ago called “2020”, about a global super storm. It was actually based on a book by Art Bell, which, coincidentally, my Uncle John had given me. I figured since we’re a year away from the end of civilization, I’d think about some things.
In the past, I had a website that I actively managed. That kind of went away when I had a technology crash and I didn’t know how to recover some things. I actually recovered some data in the last year, and it spurred me to think that I should revisit that. I got help (thanks, Jeff) to set this up back in 2018, and then laziness took over and I never did anything with it. In 2019, that’s going to change.
In 2019, I’m going to focus my energy on this place, rather than FacePlace. At the end of the day, it’s not really an issue with the way FacePlace has dealt with information or privacy (a topic for much discussion), but really an issue with how FacePlace has affected my life. I may talk about that at length at some point, but I’ve got to think about how to do it publicly without sounding like I’m on the attack. Sorry if that’s vague. If anyone wants details, feel free to reach out to me. In short, I want to view my life again through the lens of a camera, rather than through the lens of an app on my phone. I’ll be posting links to any new blog posts because I know everyone will be riveted to their screens waiting to see the latest thing I’m babbling about.
I hope 2019 is a year of new adventures. There are lots of things I want to see and things I want to capture in digital film.
Feel free to reach out to me through this page. I may or may not see you reaching out on FacePlace.

Thank you for directing me here. I am thinking of the same sort of venue.
